What’s It All About?

Story can be elevating, entertaining, spine-tingling, thought-provoking, light or dark – stories, like love, can offer you incredible lightness of being, or frighten you witless! Storytelling is the very DNA of our species. Creation myths and heroic sagas breath life into the soul of a civilisation. Stories build bridges too; we see ourselves in ‘the other’ as they tell a tale that touches us.

Our stories shape our way of thinking too:who we are, who our friends or enemies are. Traveller’s tales, fisherman’s yarns, urban myths – fables – fairy stories – sagas; each gives voice to our aspirations or our fears, as well as making us laugh. They can even make safe the speaking of the unspeakable -’ it’s only a story’, after all – isn’t it?
